Yachting Brokers are pleased to present a beautiful 1923 classic motor yacht that has been lovingly restored. Registered on the National Historic Ships, she was built to private order in 1923 and subsequently purchased by the post office to operate in the Shetland Isles. Thankfully she was raised by the Royal Navy and purchased by HM government in 1947. Her whereabouts after that are a bit murky but she appears to have been used as a houseboat until being purchased by the cu...

HISTORY & DESCRIPTION:
Miller of St. Monance need little introduction as one of the most successful boatyards in the UK. James Miller built many fishing boats at his yard in St Monance on the Fife coast, the largest over 70′. He also built some very fine yachts to various UK designer’s plans working from the 1930s through to the sale of the yard and subsequent closure in the 1970s. The yard used their knowledge of the Scottish fishing boat, famous for it’s sea-worthiness, to produce a range of motor sailers, the Fifers, which became very popular and were built from...

This 1963 Miller Fifer 26 was brought by the present owner around 16 years ago and he immediately started a complete renovation of the boat. The majority of the work has been done but there is still quite a lot involved in finishing her off. Everything needed to finish her off is present and there are boxes of brass fittings, new parts, old parts, the list is endless. There are around 8 boxes of brand new ropes. I am told that the engine runs but needs a new starter motor.
Built of larch up to the waterline, mahogany above on sown oak frames and 'Cast over from new'. The cabin is Burmese te...
